Bobbin Lace Making

Fall Session
In this class, a beginning lacemaker will learn the basic stitches that are the basis of all bobbin laces, even the most complicated. The beginning patterns can be used to embellish clothing, place mats, pillows and wall hangings. Returning students and intermediate students will learn new techniques, practice starts and finishes, and hone their skills. The class is conducted in an informal, friendly atmosphere with students working at their own pace. The instructor, Mayra Petretti has been working with bobbin lace for almost 20 years. She has completed the assessment program from the Lace Guild (UK) and is certified in Honition Lace. Mayra teaches privately and at our Lace Day. She also demonstrates lace making at festivals and various historic homes.

Classes in Bobbin Lace making are available as part of adult continuing education classes given by the Ridgewood Community School 49 Cottage Place Ridgewood, NJ. For information and/or registration call 201-670-2777 between 1 PM and 4 PM.
